Dear Parents,
My name is Tanya Milbourne. I am originally from London, UK but call Dubai my second home. I am a mum, love education and the early years with a passion, a visual artist and a puppet maker.
I have worked in a variety of positions as a Practitioner within the Education sector over the past 27 years with both children with Special Educational Needs and Mainstream students in The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, America, Germany, France and The United Arab Emirates as an FS1/FS2 and Reception Teacher, Nursery SEN and Curriculum Coordinator, Arts Therapist and Early Years Practitioner. I have been working in Dubai as a full time early years teacher since 1997 and have continued practicing as an Arts Therapist. My specialty lies with bringing the EYFS into practice within the classroom setting.
I hold a CACHE 3 Early Years Teaching Diploma. I love languages - I am bilingual in English and German, speak French and have picked up basic spoken Arabic through living in The Gulf since the early 1990’s. Languages are a huge part of early years education especially here in the MENA Region where the majority of our children are growing up in bilingual and multilingual households.
I am a believer that the success of teaching lies in motivating, captivating and creating an environment for children at the level that suits their unique set of needs, whilst maintaining high interest in a fun stimulating and safe environment to explore and to learn in - facilitating feelings of self-worth, heightened self-esteem creating achievements that were not thought possible for the young learner at the onset.
I believe in a play based multi arts holistic, heuristic child centered and initiated learning environment where each and every child is encouraged to develop at their own pace and flourish to their highest potential. All whilst enjoying their time in school building a stable academic foundation on their learning journey.
