Each of our classes has a small teacher to student ratio. Emphasis in each class is placed on nurturing the children, allowing them to grow and learn at their own rate so the teachers observe the children to fully understand the child’s needs/strengths/areas for growth. Then they assess these observations to develop a plan for learning that is tailored to the child, not the class. This is done throughout the year to be sure that each child is reaching their full potential at StepUp NurseryTM.
Each classroom is filled with age and developmentally appropriate toys, books and learning materials. Each classroom has time in their schedule for independent play; outdoor play; snack time; Circle Time; an art project and discussion surrounding a theme for the month such as “All About Me”, “My Favorites”, “Around the World”; sensory activities and a rotation through our specials.
The children rotate among various specials weekly including: Arabic, Music, Dance & Movement, Intro to Cooking, our Indoor Soft Play Gym, Library, Water Play Confidence Counseling. Read more about each of these special activities.
